HOW DOES VISTAGE WORK?

VISTAGE IS NOT FOR EVERYONE...

VISTAGE is a paid, invitation-only peer advisory and coaching program for CEOs and business owners. Leaders meet in small, confidential groups led by an experienced facilitator (called a Chair) to work through their biggest business and leadership challenges together. What Vistage isPeer advisory and coaching program for CEOs, business owners, and key executives.Invitation-only, with members from non-competing companies.Focused on strategy, leadership, growth, and difficult decisions—not day-to-day operations.

 How the peer groups work

  • Groups usually have about 12–16 leaders.

  • Members come from different industries and do not compete with each other.

  • The group acts like a private advisory board for each member.

  • All conversations are confidential so leaders can be fully open and honest.

What happens in monthly meetings

  • One full day per month is dedicated to the Vistage meeting.

  • Members “work on the business,” not in the business (big-picture decisions and issues).

  • A structured “issue-processing” model is used:

    • One member presents a real, current challenge or opportunity.

    • Other members ask clarifying questions and challenge assumptions.

    • The group offers perspectives, ideas, and possible solutions.

    • The member leaves with clearer options and accountability.

  • Many meetings also include expert speakers or workshops on topics like:

    • Growth and strategy

    • Talent and team building

    • Finance and metrics

    • Leadership and personal development

Role of the Vistage Chair

  • The Chair is a seasoned former CEO or senior executive.

  • They facilitate the group meeting so it stays focused, safe, and productive.

  • They also meet one-on-one with each member, usually monthly, for private coaching.

  • Their job is to:

    • Create a high-trust, confidential environment.

    • Ask tough questions and push for clarity.

    • Help turn ideas into concrete actions and follow-through.

Who Vistage is for

  • CEOs, presidents, and business owners.

  • Key executives and emerging leaders in some programs.

  • Typically leaders of established small and mid-sized companies.

Programs, Expert Presentations at the Board, Curriculum for your entire organization.

  • Different tracks for:

    • CEOs

    • Small business leaders

    • Key executives

    • Emerging leaders

  • There is a one-time initiation fee and ongoing monthly dues.

  • It is positioned as an investment in leadership growth, better decisions, and better business results.

What a member actually experiences

  • You are matched into a local, non-competing peer group that fits your role and company size.

  • You attend monthly all-day meetings plus one-on-one coaching sessions with your Chair.

  • Over time, the group becomes your ongoing advisory board that:

    • Helps you pressure-test big decisions.

    • Reveals blind spots.

    • Holds you accountable to your goals.

  • You also gain access to additional tools, content, and events from Vistage.
